The Tree House Gang

Our next door neighbor, Nick, found the perfect tree for a tree house in the greenbelt behind our houses. That's Nick in the green shirt next to Brett. Here's a photo that Nick's mother took one day when Brett was helping with the project.

I know that there is a perfectly logical scientific explanation for this,
but when I see it, all I can think of is . . .

Fourth of July in the Hood

The day started out like most of the days this summer. It rained. . . again.

Brett snuggled up to Sydney and spent the day in the house.

Fortunately, the sky cleared, the neighbors came out, and the boys were able satisfy all their pyromaniac tendencies for one more year.

A Special Day in January

Following the tradition of the Presbyterian church, both Brett and I were baptized as infants. Recently, Brett decided that he wanted to declare his own decision to follow Christ. And shortly after my 46th birthday, I decided it was time to follow the example of my son and do the same.

So after several days of rainy cold weather,
God parted the clouds, brought out the sun,
and provided a beautiful day for this special occasion.

The only reason I included this lovely photo of myself dripping wet is because of its meaning. Will is pointing out my mother who is looking on with her eyes filled with tears.
